Abstract

Alkenylation is one of the important carbon-carbon bond formation reaction in organic synthesis. Because, alkene units are found in various natural products and biologically active molecules. Generally oxidant and higher temperature is required for palladium-catalyzed alkenylation reaction. Here we reported alkenylation of aromatic benzamides with alkenes in the presence of [{RuCl2(p-cymene)}2] , AgSbF6 in 1,2 dichloroethane providing ortho-alkenylated amides in a highly regio- and stereoselective manner in the absence of oxidant at room temperature.
