The thesis titled "Synthesis of Terminal Pentasaccharide Motif A Reminiscent of Mycobacterial Cell Wall" is organized into three chapters. Chapter 1 provides an overview of the importance of carbohydrates, glycosylation, glycosidic linkages, stereoselectivity in chemical glycosylation, gold catalysis in glycosylation and conformational analysis of carbohydrates. Chapter 2 details the synthesis of the pentasaccharide motif A, mycobacterial glycan using [Au]/[Ag]-catalyzed glycosylation. Chapter 3 gives the references.en_US
