The characteristics of the plants and fruits we see today are far from similar to what they used to be. The change happened in due course of time with voluntary or involuntary actions. Favourable features have been added to the plants, so-called domestication and in some way, it proved to be a necessity in recent times. The factors affecting the process are little known, though we have some knowledge about it. One such factor is small RNA-mediated pathways. This thesis attempts to show one such small RNA that may be associated with the change in rice domestication. We have a micro RNA module which showed negative regulation in RNA sequencing. During the study, I generated overexpression and knockout lines of micro RNA and its target. The tools generated will be very helpful for establishing the relationship between miRNA, its target and its role in rice domestication.en_US
