As quantum technologies transition from fundamental theory to industrial applications, the quality and accessibility of high-end thin films have emerged as a primary determinant of hardware performance. To highlight the critical role of high-end thin films in current and emerging quantum technologies and prepare the future Indian quantum technology ecosystem to be ready and capable, this research identifies different applications where thin films are currently used at lab scale. This will allow us to make future proof technological readiness level, which will drive the thin-film industry when quantum technology is adopted at large scale. To achieve this, we identified 700+ leading experimental quantum technology researchers and groups across 34 countries and reached out to them for their inputs on the research that involves the use of thin films. This report maps the global demand, technical requirements(like thickness, roughness and materials) and systemic bottlenecks (including equipment reliability, supply chain latency, human capital, etc.) within the thin film landscape, based on the 59 expert inputs received. Through these inputs, we showcase the dependency of quantum technologies on high-end thin films and provide actionable insights for policymakers, industry and research institutions to align the Indian thin film ecosystem for the upcoming quantum age.en_US
